Project: Savannah(VG)

To build a MXP740 Savannah(VG)) Small Light  Aircraft and have it in the air by March 2009. This will be a joint collaboration between myself and flying partner Simon 'if-he-gets-much-fatter-he-wont-be-able-to-get-in-it' Yardley.

The Savannah(VG) is a 'Short Take off and Landing' - STOL aircraft  similar to the Zenithair CH701. Some would say too similar. It stalls at 32 mph and will cruise at about 95. Normal approach speed is 40. Load factors are +6g /-4g. The engine is a Jabiru 2200 all the way from Oz.

Read David Bremner's Review of the standard wing Savannah (6mB PDF file).

The Rans G-MZBD has been sold.

When I first started running back in the 80's it was more out of a need to avoid the pile of dirty dishes or the overgrown lawn than the desire to improve my fitness. In them days I meticulously logged every time and distance into what became a rather shabby old ledger.

How times have changed. With the marriage of GPS, heart rate monitors and internet technologies I can now with a few mouse clicks have every metric imaginable not only saved and displayed graphically on my desktop but can zoom in from outer space to view my route from above.

If you've a mind take a look at some of my activities on MotionBase. For the outer space bit you will need Google Earth and, as much as I favour Firefox, you will need to be in Internet Explorer to run the Map Player. Alternatively I've also got some stuff here at GPS Activity Manager
